What’s love got to do with it?

You may wonder why there is a section entitled ‘Love’ on a nutrition blog, other than it being evident upon reading it that I am an incurable romantic. Whilst that is 100% true about yours truly, there is something else I would like to share with you on the subject of romance…

In my experience so far in life and as a Nutritional Therapist, I have discovered a very important aspect of health;

That is in order to become all that we want to be, including healthy and fit, we must first make friends with the part of ourselves that is causing us to chose a more self destructive path.

What we eat and how we eat is so inextricably linked to how we feel about ourselves, the two cannot be separated. I have carried out many nutrition consultations and a large part of the consultation often has very little to do with food. It’s actually relating to emotional, spiritual or psychological disharmony and that is what is preventing the person from achieving their physical goals.

The truth is that until we get to the root of the issue, we aren’t going to enjoy successful, long term benefits, even if we’ve signed up to the best nutrition programme in town. If health was as simple as being told what to eat then all of us would be looking and feeling like Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire.

And so my friends, this is where the path to optimum health begins. I will be sharing some thoughts with you along the way that I hope will caste a light on the path ahead leading to a happier healthier you.

Cue a bit of Tina for the soundtrack to this blog. Swaying around your lounge is optional but highly recommended.

So let’s make it all about you my friend, because you’re worth it.
Audrey please drive me out of the 80’s and stop being a mischief.
