Last minute land girl!

My neighbour who asked me to look after her allotment for her whilst she’s away is coming back very soon so I thought I’d better get down there and do some tidying!

Goodness don’t plants grow fast??!

So as you may have gathered I’m not green fingered by nature but I really want to learn how to grow my own produce and what better way to get some practice in than look after someone else’s space and hopefully not do too bad a job!

I haven’t been able to get down to the plot for 10 days or so and was rather shocked to discover how overgrown it had become….

Armed with determination and gusto I got to work de-weeding and re-landscaping – well it did feel a bit like that! I’m delighted to see the chard seeds I planted have come up and the kale seedlings are coming along leaps and bounds….. just in time for me to hand the allotment back over though!

It’s a learning curve but I’m really excited about my own garden next year, which I have laid a small veggie plot out in and covered with plastic under the supervision of my friend Patch

More on that in the months to come do join me on my quest to become green fingered!
