I have to say this recipe it pretty unbeatable as far as home made pizzas go and what’s more it’s gluten free!
I originally found it on a Doves flour pack and halved the recipe because I prefer a thinner crust. The great thing about making your own pizza is you can add whatever toppings you like and it’s a great one to get the kids involved in.
Ingredients for the dough:
225g white Doves bread flour
a pinch of salt
1 teaspoon dried yeast
1 tablespoon sugar
160ml of warm milk (I use hemps milk for dairy free)
1/2 teaspoon vinegar
3 tablespoons of oil (I use rapeseed)
Mix together flour, yeast, salt and sugar
Heat the milk gently until warm
Beat the egg, add the vinegar and then the milk
Add the milk mix to the flour and stir into a sticky dough (it wont look like tradtional; dough
Add the oil
Oil a baking dish and spoon the dough mix onto the tray
Spread it out into a big square (or circle if you so desire)
Place in a warm area of the house for 1 hour
Now for the fun part!
Add whichever toppings take your fancy
Today I pre roasted some tinned artichokes (cheaper than fresh), the chopped leftover marrette Emma gave me yesterday and a red pepper
I also used tomato puree, chopped tomatoes, sun dried tomatoes (well you can never have enough types of tomato!)
Olives, anchovies, capers, slices chilli and rocket
Blooming delicious and perfect for a night in and a movie.
Tonight my friend and I watched ‘Midnight In Paris’ which I thoroughly recommend for any vintage enthusiasts out there!
